Primary results reveal strong pro-life voting bloc

Salem, OR — Last night, over 85% of Oregon Right to Life PAC’s recommended or endorsed candidates in competitive elections won or advanced to the November election. This included former ORTL political director Colm Willis in his race for Marion County Commissioner, position 2. Patti Adair also defeated an incumbent in her Republican primary for Deschutes County Commissioner, position 3.

“The victories of Oregon Right to Life PAC candidates across Oregon demonstrate the fact that pro-life voters continue to take a key role in primary elections,” says Lois Anderson, ORTL executive director. “Our political leaders need to take note and work to end Oregon’s notorious lack of legal protection for the most vulnerable — preborn children.”

Other victories include Rep. Denyc Boles, a newly-appointed legislator who won her primary against two challengers. Rep. Mike Nearman and Rep. Rich Vial also won over primary challengers. Statewide, 94% of ORTL PAC supported candidates for county commissions won or advanced to the November election.
