(Oregon Right to Life) — Tuesday, November 3rd, marks the final day for Oregon voters to cast their ballots in the 2026 election. Oregon Right to Life PAC is strongly encouraging all pro-life voters to turn out, highlighting the fact that numerous consequential races in the state may be very tight.
Polls will close across Oregon at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3rd, the last opportunity for voters to drop off their ballots in local official drop boxes. The results in some races will probably be known on Election Night, while others may take longer as ballot counting will continue for weeks post-election.
From conducting interviews and making candidate endorsements earlier in the year to canvassing in key districts, distributing a free pro-life voter guide to over 250,000 Oregon households, and making individual contacts with pro-life voters, Oregon Right to Life PAC has worked hard to turn out the pro-life vote this year.
Last election, pro-abortion lawmakers secured a legislative “supermajority” after pro-life candidate Tracy Cramer lost her election by a mere 161 votes. That loss has allowed pro-abortion Democrats to exercise total control over the legislature, including by sending millions of taxpayer dollars to backfill funding to Oregon’s Planned Parenthood facilities.
Now, pro-life voters have the opportunity to oust a pro-abortion Democrat who was twice elected as a pro-life Republican; send Tracy Cramer to Salem; elect many pro-life candidates for House and Senate seats in other races statewide; and even elect Oregon’s first Republican governor in nearly 40 years.
The Governor’s Race:
The Oregon governor’s race has drawn national attention for its razor-thin margins, causing some to speculate that 2026 could be the year that Oregon once again elects a Republican governor. Incumbent Democratic Governor Tina Kotek is running nearly neck-and-neck with opponent Christine Drazan, a Republican Senator with a pro-life legislative record.
In February, a California-based firm saw Drazan down 5% (outside the 3.1% margin of error). But by mid-September, Drazan was up 2% in a DHM Research of Portland poll with a 4% margin of error. Recent polls have seen that advantage slip downward somewhat, with Drazan down 2% in an early October poll for The Oregonian/OregonLive – however that’s within the poll’s 4% margin of error.
Earlier this year, Inside Elections shifted from describing the race as “Solid Democrat” to the more tepid “Lean Democrat.”
Governor Kotek, who has garnered strong opposition from pro-life Oregonians for her abortion extremism – including establishing a day to celebrate abortion providers, stockpiling abortion drugs, and increasing state funding for Planned Parenthood – was elected in 2022 and is now among the least popular governors in the country. According to Morning Consult, Kotek ranks 48th out of the 50 state governors, with a net approval rating of just 4%.
“When you talk to the average Oregonian, most don’t agree with Oregon’s current law of abortion on demand,” said Oregon Right to Life political director Sharolyn Smith. “And most absolutely do not celebrate the act.”
House District 32
In House District 32, Oregon’s North Coast, pro-life farmer and retired agriculture teacher Max Sherman is running against incumbent Representative Cyrus Javadi.
Rep. Javadi previously ran as a pro-life Republican. But after he was elected, he changed his party affiliation, identified as “pro-choice,” and voted against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act – a piece of legislation he had previously advanced.
By contrast, Max Sherman is a pro-life farmer and active community member whose own pro-life convictions were strengthened in his younger years when he and his soon-to-be wife chose life after experiencing an unplanned pregnancy in college.
Senate District 11:
Republican candidate Tracy Cramer is running In Senate District 11, which encompasses the northern region of Marion County. Formerly a member of the Oregon House of Representatives for Marion County’s House District 22, Tracy is a wife, mom, small business owner, and Oregonian with pro-life values and deep ties to the area.
Tracy is running against Democrat former Salem City Councilor Virginia Stapleton, who is endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Oregon.
Additional Statewide Races:
In addition to HD 32, SD 11, and the governor’s race, candidates in contests across the state have earned the endorsement or recommendation of Oregon Right to Life PAC.
These include David Brock Smith for U.S. Senate; Patti Adair in Oregon’s 5th Congressional District; Kevin Mannix for Oregon’s HD 21; Scott Hege for HD 52; and Angela Plowhead for SD 10; among many others.
